Woodwind I is sailing regularly scheduled daily cruises (through September 28th) from Camp Richardson Resort in South Lake Tahoe, CA, just 2 miles west on Hwy 89 from the Hwy 50 intersection at the south end of the lake. Woodwind I is a U.S. Coast Guard certified 30-passenger sailing vessel, custom built for charters & public cruises on Lake Tahoe, and operated by a Coast Guard licensed crew. The yacht is a three-hulled trimaran with a sloop rig. The Woodwind I was the first cruise boat on Lake Tahoe with glass bottom viewing windows.

Woodwind I has a single mast, with 2 working sails totaling 1,000 square feet. She is 41-ft. long and 24-ft. wide, and weighs 10,000 pounds. Her mast rises 50-ft. above the deck.

Sailing at more than 6,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by mountain peaks reaching up to 10,000 feet above sea level, Woodwind I has the distinction of being "the world's highest trimaran".

Woodwind I has sailed more than 100,000 miles on Lake Tahoe, the equivalent of sailing around the world 3 times! Since its first cruise in 1975, Woodwind has carried over 300,000 passengers. Woodwind has also hosted quite a list of celebrities, including : John Travolta, Neil Diamond, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Rogers, Glen Campbell, Howie Mandel, George Lucas, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Sedaka, Wille Nelson, The Smothers Brothers, The Pointer Sisters, and Christopher Cross!
